Welcome to Ri-me Buddhism

This site is currently in design and is in the process of being constructed here. It briefly operated in parallel with the former website of the Ri-me Buddhist Ceneter of Washington D.C. and now replaces it. If you are in the Washington DC area, please come study and practice with us in person, as we explore the diversity of opportunities available to us. Rime, or Ri-me (either spelling is correct for English; it is pronounced "ree-may") Buddhism is the nonpartisan, unbiased philosophy which examines and unites the sutra and tantra of the 4 major Tibetan schools of Buddhism. In it's contemporary form, it may be expanded to include the comparitive study of expressions of the Dharma among all Buddhist traditions and practices.

The Rime Buddhist Center of Washington D.C. was founded on 3/3/09 in the Western Calendar, or the 7th day of the first month in the Year of the Earth Ox, 2136 in the Tibetan Calendar.
